>3.4 ghz dual core without mat_queue is enough for vista @ 60fps…
mat_queue 2 – 3.0ghz
btw thats with at least 4mb cache cpu :P less cache, less fps
i’ve got almost same specs as you but dif cpu, intel e6400 @ 2.2ghz. and ofc my cfg with constant 100fps :p. try these :
mat_picmip “2”
r_shadowmaxrendered “0”
r_shadows “0”
thats not on vista
indeed
what cpu do u think i should get? i want a stable fps and smooth gaming =) Like around 100fps all the time
How much would you like to spend?
e8400 or Q6600 is dirt cheap , and will certainly improve your fps.
AMD is fail for gaming atm
E8xxx is cheap gaming cpu with large cache + clocked even with def cooler to ~3.2Ghz = win
yeah, i read an article just a minute ago. And e8400 was epic =D But i dunno yet
EDIT: Would it be better with a e5200? Cause its much cheaper :)
e8400 is worth the extra money imo
AMD is all but failing atm,
if you can afford them (around the same prices as the C2Q’s), the Phenom II cpu’s are great.
