Im playing with more´s config atm and its really nice. But still i get bad fps in the start on middle point, when its alot of action, and the game is not running smooth at all. So im asking someone to help me configure mores config a bit, so it maybe get worse graphic but higher fps, if its possible.
My pc is bad, i know thats one problem :) But i dont feel like i wanna spend some money on it atm :). So im also asking, if im going to buy something new to the pc, what should i buy then? Cpu? gfx?…
This is my pc:
cpu: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+
gfx: nVidia GeForce 7950 GT
Memory: 2gb, A-data technology (400mhz) DDR2
Motherboard: ASUS M2N-E
just to be able to run tf2 smoothly, im not interested in other games.
Thanks!
I heard the Commodore 64 runs TF2 really well
You could do a de-frag on your pc that always helps or indeed a re-format.
But yeah the pc only runs as fast as its slowest componant so probably the CPU, you could try adding another stick of ram, i hope you use XP and not vista.
mores config already makes the game as ugly as possible :P
You could try running the game on dxlevel 70 (instead of 81) but I dunno if it works or helps
don’t think adding extra ram will do anything for your fps
i think it’s best to buy a new mobo and cpu or if u dont want a new mobo a x2 6000 or something ( although i also had some drops with that cpu)
Ive re-format my pc recently and it didnt help to much =) And the dxlevel 70 wont even work =D I think i have to buy a new cpu then =) thanks for the help guys =)
or jst go for a intel + a Overclock:) altho mite have to spend a bit for a new decent mobo then =/
@babE: vista uses up a lot of ram. i have 2gb of ram, but vista is using 1.2gb of that, so i only play tf2 with 800mb of ram >:(
Indeed vista is a massive resource whore, and really dosnt do much else apart from looking pretty
It doesn’t quite work like that… Vista does use more RAM when idle but when an application wants to use more RAM, Vista will let you use it. Vista and XP performance is pretty much the same
