Because a whole lot of the internet connections between europe and russia go through sweden, a league server in sweden would be a lagfix worth trying.

I understand your views, and the majority of what you say is true, however in comparison to the Call of Duty / CS:S (especially) communities we are very friendly.
Sorry for this but I agree with this topic.. seriously – in every match against russians, it’s still the same: you play 1 map on yours and 1 map on ours -> sense?! there is no sense! you’re lagging like shit on russian servers and they are lagging like shit on our servers..

In topic though, we dont have enough stable teams/players to start degenerating into the clusterfuck that is 10 year old css kiddie-teams. imo some of our players should put more effort into acting ‘professional’

I actually got interested in seeing how my own suggestion would work, thats why I bother a 2nd post in this thread. Would a league server in sweden provide reasonable and equal ping to most etf2l players, including russians, so that these whines about russian latency issues would have one less reason to exist? The kind of hate OP presented sounds just stupid. Russians are europeans and have full rights to participate in the league competition.

You’re shooting yourself in the foot with your hypocrisy. And racism? Oh yeah, where? And especially in the league and clanwars oh the racial tensions are indeed of biblical proportions.
Having played pcws with my clan for a year now, we’ve rarely come across anyone who is rude. It just doesn’t happen. Sure I remember a certain player who played against us ages ago and he accused our demoman for scripting (ironically, considering the position he is in now) and went on to use all his e-martial arts to bear and fuelled his delusions of grandeur by cranking his e-penis with verbal e-viagra. Ok, nuff of that.
Thing is, by having played CS for a great while and playing WC3, I can definitely say that TF2 is by far the friendliest community, especially compared to other competitive scenes. This goes by manners and the absense of trashtalking. On the forums I don’t find so many e-feuds either, even if they’re there. Thing is, in CS it’s a constant bickering with “retard”, “cunt”, “asshole”, “faggot” and so on whenever possible. I also find that TF2 isn’t very elitist at the top, even though we’ve got a very small section of elite teams up there.
i won’t go into details as for the russians in the etf2l or not…
however you’ve got a point about the community not being friendly anymore and etc. i agree that it’s not like before, i still remember people helping me out during my first pickups and etc and now it’s only flaming and blabla…
BUT, you are only seeing the bad thing: remember the movement when the ukesa was around the corner? high teams helping small teams to get in and etc? remember the i34 and the help and mix teams around? watch the people that are making friendly mix teams for i36? see the people that are working hard to make the huge community lan in holland for july?
tbh, i think that those things i said are the proof that overall, we are still quite friendly within our community even though there wasn’t so much flame before…
I agree, TF2 community is definitely getting more retarded, the original post in this thread is a perfect example of that.
