steam community overlay dosent work in tf2?

for a couple of months the overlay cannot be brought up in my tf2 anymore. got abit jelly watching others can do so,
read through a lot of posts on steam forum but none of those work
any clues?

do you have any dxlevel in your launch options? If yes, try to remove it. It works for me.
