So we all love a little pub session but shitting on a 128 man 24/7 cpf_dustfort just isn’t fun for that long. If I paid for and maintained a 24 slot server with stock and decent custom maps. Would people fill it? I’d try and start it up every few days with people off my friends list and friends of friends, trying to keep it quite full.
Ideas I’m considering:
Community mumble with temp channels made by anyone.
Occasional challenges, heavy fist fights, all medics, first to taunt kill gets some kind of boost.
Some kind of point base with a possible prize.
Open to ideas and if there’s general interest I’ll try and get it going by the end of the month.

I would play on it, I miss doomies for sure (The only really good pub I’ve ever played on, going back about 4-5 years, proper team comms and good class balance etc)
Even THG and Uberium suffer from being extremely quiet for the most part, and full of people who are too afraid to run around a corner on dustbowl in case they die.

Post the mumble info regularly in ingame chat.
Goodies could include reserved slots or something.
promod ctf with promod ctf maps where you can touch the pro flag to return it and there’s no scorelimit

I’ve seen servers where you could get all hats (on this server), I suppose you could do this as goodie…. dunno how it works and if its possible.

I don’t think hats would be much motivation. Might offer up small amounts of admin abuse. Being able to slap Koeitje lots or teleport koeitje in to your sentry or every shot on koeitje is a crit etc.

After I moved to USA and joined first TF2 server I had to mute half of the people there, because they wouldn’t shut up no matter what. In Europe you will barely hear anyone talk.

as a result we will be teleported away to an arena to find out who is the pokemon master of this region.
This will resolve the normal – MAN IF YOU ONE ON ONED ME YOU’D GET JELLY AND CUSTARDED ON.
