It’s not as much placebo as it is negative accel, which is caused by a low screen res and a high dpi. Since crt’s get higher refreshrates with lower resolutions, it was obvious to lower the dpi instead of increasing the resolution. That is a part of the issue I believe, it’s the reason I use 500 dpi atm.
