Why aren't you streaming?

I’m using OBS and seem to be able to stream fine (i5 3750k @ 4.2Ghz) at 852×480, 25fps. And by that I mean I get good FPS in game, and it doesn’t stutter too much. However, the stream itself seems to pause/stutter every 5 seconds or so, and I can’t work out why. Any ideas?

The stuttering used to happen to me also. Reducing the bitrate seemed to fix it, but I put it at 2000 again later and it’s running ok so it might not have been that after all.

Well I have it on default at the moment, which is 1000… will try reducing it a bit though.
I’m actually able to stream with OBS with no stutter at all, I have a res of 1920×1080, stream at 720p, 30 fps and around 4000 bit rate. I have 5mb upload as well.
I’d highly recommend using OBS if you’re not to keen on production etc. As it’s a really good slim alternative to xsplit. Having said that, does anyone know how to get fullscreen to work? :D
I only have about 1Mb upload, maybe that’s why I’m getting the stutters in the stream itself.

wow wtf o.O
it looks so… realistic. everything looks so big and sharp. im so confused :D
what resolution is that? i cant get over how sharp it looks in 1080p fullscreen, but things look bigger than normal so the resolution must be lower.. but then that doesnt make sense.. help brain melt

Si’s a boring fuck and has you and n0va for friends. How come people watch his stream?
tad mean.
Ok, So final configs:
TF2, 720 60fps: http://www.twitch.tv/skyride/b/336310044
Just Cause 2, 1080p 60fps: http://www.twitch.tv/skyride/b/336309101
I’m starting a proper tutorial series over at my new blog here and I will go over exactly how to get that kind of quality. I promise you though, it is going to be several hours of your time tweaking and so on, and I’m using every last bit of 7mbit upload to get that kind of quality. However I could probably get it EVEN better once I overclock my CPU (still at stock, 3570K).

change the server you are changing to, its usually amsterdam or london by default, which are the worst servers ever and fuck shit up.
