Some simple ranking/league system for 6s and glorious hats/medals. I like it. Could add some small advertisment for ESEA/ETF2l. Also a way to look VODs and live match streams, to show em how its done.
Great idea. Too bad valve don’t care.
Brilliant idea! +1000
ofc, this is what is missing in tf2 and because of that competetiv tf2 hasn’t as much players as it derservers.
the problem with it: valve dont want it(for whatever reasons)

It’d be awesome, I’d be a little concerned about the servers they’d offer as the MvM ones seemed horrific when it first came out. I felt like I was at constant Russian, but it was easy vs bots so np. Slightly different when you’ve actual people in front of you.
well the video said the way to make valve care would be to add a monetary incentive. so people buying tickets like mvm. if valve could make money off of people playing 6v6 or 9v9 in a lobby system, valve might care
This would definatly be a shot in the arm for competitive tf2

The idea is 1) Never going to happen and 2) horrendous on so many levels I don’t even know how to formulate a response. It would require a 200 page dissertation to fully explain all of the reasons why this would actively be a bad thing.

I’m pretty sure L4D had the option to run on community based servers and therefore you’re not bound to play on a valve server. if you find valve servers shit, then you have the option to play on the “e-thug’s competetive public server”
Its a way around it, but yet not a bulletproof plan, Atleast its worth something.

Also need to mention, for a shitload of time Versus mode was in tf2lobby style, and just recently Valve added Team Versus, where you form a party, find a competent opponent and stuff like that. And it’s considering how small their competitive community is.
This is a great idea as a low level enter to competitive play (unlike tf2lobby where you most of the time forced to play with randoms against randoms, and, eh, noobie mixes, which are also too complicated). Valve are super slow as always, and I get impression it’s a bit late now, but better than never.
