Updates to Team Fortress 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:
Gameplay changes
Added a duck timer that prevents duck spamming while running around on-ground
In-air, players are only allowed to duck once before they touch ground again
Fixed several bounding box issues with jumping, falling, and rocket jump air-walking. Bounding box should be much more accurate there now
Increased backstab check so that Spies can side-stab again
When disguising, Spies now always start showing the primary weapon in their disguise, and can then switch it with the last-disguise key
TF2 Fixes
Fixed flamethrower loophole that resulted in the flame effect being stuck on while the flamethrower wasn’t really firing
Fixed exploit that allowed players to circumvent the force-fire timeout on the pipebomb launcher
Fixed a bug that caused Natasha’s slow on hit effect to be inverted from 75% to 25%
Restored sawmill_logs.mdl file, fixing some user maps that used it
Fixed some localization issues with Scout achievement strings
Removed the “Final” phrasing in the map loading screen
Engine fixes
Fixed a server crash on startup under Linux
Fixed a buffer overflow issue related to network string tables
Gamestats uploading is now done asynchronously. This fixes the client timeout issues on map changes
CP_Junction
Fixed an exploit where engineers could build a teleporter exit in an invalid area
Fixed a few bad overlay assignments and other minor issues
Yea just updated for me. Whats with all the ‘duck’ nerfs. -1 on the update tho, no first blood cvar and no nerf on the sandman :(
No cvar to remove First Blood? :/
Lamest update ever. scout is “ruined” now (imo) and soldier jump maps are litteralty impossible.

I’m glad that ppl can’t crouchspam anymore to avoid damage but soldiers rocketjumps have lost a lot of potency. I used to be able to easily get up to badland’s spire CP from the stairs platform that has the small ammopack. Now it doesn’t even go close and I can just barely get to the middle level where there’s the small health pack. Not nice, not nice at all :(
Scout is ruined because you can’t duck a million times in the air? Sorry but that’s fair play.

Spy is pretty sick now. The range is so huge that all stabs count unless they are directly from the front.
This is actually the first update ever that made me really unhappy. Nerfing rocketjumping would’ve been acceptable if soldier’s selfdamage had been lowered also, but like this it just sucks. Some crucial jumping spots have been ruined, for what I tried just now. Moose had a nice example for instance. Also in granary it’s a lot more difficult to jump between the furthest crates. At least it’s still possible..
Removing duck spamming was a positive thing though, don’t have to worry about scouts messing their hitboxes anymore I hope.
Totally with skinnie, i dont even care if there is no multi-core update.
I still want to see this, but at least on paper this should be the REAL scout update…
No more weird duck jumps in my face that is sure he he he ^^

edit: i dont know yet how far the rj changes, if it gets rlly nerfed i have to say… valve cant u do one update that doesnt screw up something along?

Hum, i seem to have missed out on a lot regarding rocket jumps them. I just tried, and i can do exactly the same jumps as i used to. I just don’t realease crouch midair, not untill i’m about to land, its what im used to. I dunno if that’s just me being foolish though.
And spy backstabs are just nasty =)
i cant do alot of the jumps i used to be able to. I cant jump to the basket in bball with a 27 hp jump anymore
soldiers rj’s were a bit nerfed with this :(
anyway scout changes are wellcome :)
i heard tumpel is moving to soldier? *flame* :D
