If you click the grenade launcher on the mercs page you get this http://media.steampowered.com/apps/tf2/tobor/upgrade_ui.jpg

Couldn’t you and Clive had that conversation on Skype?

I’ve not had any favourites for like a week. Idk if that’s a similair thing to what you’ve been having.
No it’s just you guys. I’m not having problems at all and none of my friends hasn’t complained anything.
While I’m happy to see new content coming for TF2 and I do look forward to playing MVM, I don’t really understand why Valve are giving this to us. What are they up to?
Afaik there hasn’t been much clamouring for a TF2 horde mode (before MVM was hinted), yet they have spent 2 years working on this by the looks of it. Usually Valve do things like this because they have been specifically requested, or because they want to try something out.
So what experiments can be made within a horde mode for TF2? I can only think of testing a game server’s adaptability (pretty sure turning arena on/off does that) or of the credit and upgrade system coming in as part of MVM. If it’s the latter, I think it would be logical to guess that Valve are thinking about RPG’s in some form.
Any other ideas why MVM has been given to us?

The reason why Valve is giving free updates and f2p games (dota2, tf2) is because they want consumers to use Steam. Now people think Valve is a cool company because they make these constant updates. This will attract more people to use Steam. More people in Steam, more potential costumers who actually buy stuff like games or tf2 items.

It will provide the basis for a MOBA gamemode in tf2, just watch. And I’d like to see that by the way. Super Monday Night Combat ruined MNC for me, so I hope TF2 can do better :D.

I know; I don’t think there is a special reason. They just want people to use Steam.

Pretty much this. They create a casual mode for a new audience, who may don’t like original gameplay, but sympathize to TF2 universe (SFM also helps to popularize it, the reason why it was released), to make them use Steam Store and Mann Co. Store. HOLLA HOLLA GET DOLLA.
