They should change it into a meele weapon. :> I’m sorry for all the scouts who have to defend their funky new unlocks, but they’re just plain annoying.

Solution: The scout is now the parimary candidate for medic buddying and must equip the sandman to bat away all incoming balls.
In other news, valve please remove it.
I have no idea what game you’re playing where scouts can hit with every single ball, and dont have to wait for recharge. Bearing in mind that they give up double jump for a whole game and probably will hit you a max of 5 times/game.
Besides, if you are working together and have good comms, just call for support when you are stunned and hopefully there (should) be someone who can pressure the scout or stop him from getting the medic.
It’s just one of those things that require very little skill to cause a devastating effect on the game. You can say “Use comms” blah blah as much as you want but if you nail a medic just as he’s popped an uber on the way to attack granary, the only comms that are gonna be heard are oh my fucking god jelly tots fucking sandman go to hell bullshit cry cry emo fuck.
I just got hit 6 times in one round, survived only once
Skinnie + Para as the scouts I think. I switched to sniper in the end couldn’t take playing soldier anymore lol

This…it’s not an MMO. Stun does not belong in FPS games.
I think the sandman changes the gameplay too much. there are so many situations where a small ball can makes your advantage in an bad disadvantage.
Scenario 1:
You are defending the Yard in Granary. 2 Soldiers and a medic are holding the left side. Your scouts kill one of the enemy and you try to push into the middle. there is just the small place on the left side in the door case.
2 balls -> 2 stunned person -> in worst case both soldiers -> Medic down -> Scouts behind you -> Your demo is the right side with your scouts —> NO CHANCE FOR YOU
And i am pretty sure that you will hit with your balls (even a flare gune hits persons in doorcases…)
You can think of this on every point with door cases to go through to push on an point.
Granary Yard, Badlands 3th CP, Fastlane on every point, Last CP Well and so on and so on.
Its right that youself has the Chance to do it, like your opponent, but is that what we want? To wait who gets the Ball Advantage to get into a fight?
I dont think that this weapon makes the gamplay more exiting, its a total overpowered way to own your opponent without needing much skill in many situations.

I actually agree with Mick, most pro gamers looking to move over to TF2 will grab a few games on a public get hit with the sandman a few times and think ‘This is fucking gash’.
For those people who say ‘It’s only a bit of fun’ I’d argue and say that it’s the pro scene that drags any community forward and essentially keeps it going, without TF2 getting coverage online people will be less attracted to the game, the public scene will dry up and the clan scene will follow shortly after wards (as someone said earlier).
However, I honestly believe the solution doesn’t lie with removing it, or with leaving it. It lies with Valve pulling their fingers out and creating server side variables for everything and leave it to the league and server admins to decide what they allow based on the reactions of their own audiences.
Yeah this was the old demoman argument, “yes we’re overpowered but both teams have a demoman” and now on top of that we got another two overpowered enemies which leaves the soldier as cannon fodder, simply making up the numbers and giving the enemies points – ty valve.
