it’s not really a solution to ban it a league. Valve needs to rework or remove it completely. I joined a public yesterday and it was a nightmare. either killed by stun or by crit. doubt any new player who tries out TF2 will actually play this game again, let alone in a serious way. the public community is actually our base of new players. if we let them die, we won’t last long either.
conc grens like in QWTF or TFC would have been a better option than a Stun , for sure

Why remove the sandman and not the ubercharge ? Ubercharge is much stronger and changes all the gameplay of the game.
This discussion is meaningless without waiting a little to see the actual effects in league matches.
Anyways it’s ridiculous that a little ball can stun targets while ubered whereas other projectiles like grens, rockets have no effect at all. Remove that and make the ball to be shot like stickies (hold for more power). :]

The effect is already noticeable in scrims and pickups. :/

How can it be if scouts can own any class 1v1 with the sandman, and especially their supposed counters heavy and soldier?
Its also ridiculously imba on pubs btw.
4+ scouts grouping together with sandman destroy anything the enemy can put up against them.

Well I don’t want to run into a 5sek close up stun. :/ If a scout knows that the enemy is about to push or if he flanks a group from behind he can easly charge up to the max before starting to move.

Your playing a Cartoon based game, at what stage did you think it was ever going to be a MANS CPMA CPL PRO OMG BETTER THAN COD4 / CSS game?

or at least “a stand still but can fire” if the bball hits an uber
I never see the problem of such a discussion,
sure its annoying to get stunned,
but isnt it that your own scouts can also do this?
So are all of you afraid that your scouts are noobs?
I’m afraid of losing the interest in the game even more. it’s not like heavy and soldier are fun to play against something like that.
Are you always playing in 1on1 ? Where is the rest of your team ? Sandman is very easily blockable by any average teamplay.
All these lolweapons, they dont make me lol. I raged my head off when the first pack came (medic), which I know realise was rather foolish. Compared to the scout pack, the medic pack was genious. If it was up to me, the scout pack should just be disallowed in this league. Its just tiresome :P Not only are the weapons tiresome, they also replace perfectly good weapons (and jumps). I just hope they remove the stun crap (which i agree with many people – doesnt belong in fps), which would make the whole pack quite useless, which means we dont have to think much about it, since it will be as useless as the sandwich, Flaregun and KGB. Its just amazing though that scoutpack didnt have any crit-related weapons.

You can defend it all you like, but all that will happen is the good players will leave the scene and move on to other games, and then the competitive side of TF2 will die.
Noticed you are not (a scout).
And what I say is just: “Give it a chance”.
A sandman limit 1 may be a good compromise.
