My team currently uses Ventrilo for communication because we have a server already set up thanks to a kind person in our community, but our sister team uses Mumble. I know Mumble sounds better and has a nicer overlay, but what are some reasons to use Mumble over Vent, and vice-versa?
Thanks!
In mumble, you get the answer before completing the question.

You answered your own question “I know Mumble sounds better and has a nicer overlay”.
latency is lower and the codec is better
the codec is much better… and i think the servers are cheaper or even they are free…(fakkelbrigade mumble)

On a related note; why use mumble over skype?
Skype’s for them hipsters brah
if you have to choose between vent and mumble – definately mumble.
Other than that I still prefer teamspeak3. Note to all haters: Personal perference :D
mumble has a better codec/sourcecode and lower latency compared to the likes of vent/TS3 which are both shite imo,

There is really no reason not to use mumble. Best in every possible way.
