I’ve long had the view that both players should respawn after a kill. If not then every other kill, maybe.

I would, it’s a viable tactic (heck I do it in game since I know it is much better to get a certain 80-100 dmg than a possible 50 on an airshot, even if I waste a second or two – besides I cant airshot so yeah. anyhow.) but ammomod imo is practice, practice for aim, so not going for airshots wont help you much

You misunderstand me, I did not mean to imply that I do not go for airshots, simply that when my opponents are on the ground my goal is to juggle them. I was curious whether you thought of that as practice, or cheap. Instead of say, going as close as possible or spam rockets from air.

Here is my stance on how I prefer to play MGE…

Winner that takes the high ground/positional advantage is not obliged to move, the person that is killed jumps to him and vice versa.

The losing player is allowed to do one jump (or however many it takes for him to fire at the opposing player) after that ground shooting/spamming is allowed but still frowned upon.

If someone plays like a fag, like edge standing on Spire, waiting for you to jump them on badlands/granary middle, spamming from a distance on ammo mod etc. You are allowed to change your loadout to play like a fag also.

For me the bigger problem with MGE is the maps and the bugs/spawns that come with it, badlands spire ones are kinda bad, spawning in trash puts the spawner in a big disadvantage as he would have to do 2 jumps to get to spire if he can’t do the long jump.

Badlands middles train tracks are fucking awful and buggy as fuck.

The whole taking damage from the rocket of the person you killed is pretty lame, I was once knocked down to 120 hp at the start of a new round.

For me having fall damage can stop lame plays, especially those that take the high ground and jump up when you go to confront them.

Removing points could also fix faggy play, however you would then not know who to challenge on the servers, I switch arenas to the people with the most points because I know they will give me a hard game, also, having a time limit for me wouldn’t really do much, having said that it might create some interesting games when it’s even scores/one point difference with 5 seconds left or w/e.

I think people playing like idiots is really a small problem in my eyes, because it’s just how people play in a 1v1 situation, what there should be is a general etiquette that applies to MGE servers.

However, HarryHook will just come on and shotgun people before they can jump and then cry when they switch to demoman :(

Nothing wrong with it – I think you misunderstood Sylo’s and my posts as well a bit, we – or at least I – didn’t mean going as close as possible literally, just don’t run away. As long as you’re (not on ammomod obviously ~_~) not spamming rockets around a corner and doing all the gay things we mentioned before it’s fine =p Ammomod wise the only thing that really pisses me off is people not going for airshots, I don’t mind the others that much as rocket surfing = more airshot opportunities, fuck winning as long as they don’t gay and I can get airshots 8)

My main problem with mge is that people use tactics that they would never actually use, pretty much in order to win matched and gain retard points. One of the most annoying is people who will wait 100% of the time for you to jump before jumping. Evem if they happen to have the high ground, they will also wait for you to jump and proceed to bomb you from the high ground. Like if you can airshot them, its fine, but its such boring gameplay, and it helps nobody get better..

I think the way to solve most of mge’s problem, is to remove the fucking points. What is the point of them, seriously, theres no matchmaking system so all the points are for is so poeple can hoard them like fucktards, and use stupid tactics to ensure they win mge matches but not actually get good at soldier..

I think everybody should be working on their weaknesses as opposed to winning. Defining your weaknesses should be a much more important goal. I lose often working on specific things, trust me points/mgeing well doesn’t translate well into scrimming, the dynamics of 6v6 is much more than just aim. I think everyone should just play with practice in mind instead of being upset about getting hit by a dead rocket. Just my opinion, mge began because of my old weakness of dealing with scouts, it’s now become a sub competition that frankly doesn’t matter a great deal. I always say play and practice without pride. It will do you good, trust.

I believe it’s their thing, they are missing the point anyway. Probably provide you with some sort of a challenge? Some moves are really annoying (WTFSHORTSTOP), but as long as you can find a correlation between them and any actual 6v6 scenario, you are good to go.

Because MGE isn’t a real game. You’re practicing aim/DM. Starting every round with a significant advantage/disadvantage to your opponent isn’t really conducive to that.

Also it’s not particularly fun.

MGE is to practice DM, sure, but why not practice it as if it was an actual game? All of this shit could happen in a real game and you wouldn’t complain then, so why complain when practising it?

when has a soldier ever jumped up while on spire as you jumped spire from e.g. stone xd

Agree with Tyrone.

Also most Soldiers who are gods at MGE should really focus on going through their demos, looking at their positional mistakes and how they could have been more useful to the team rather than spent 6+ hours a day on it. (Hi CrashSite).

whats all this talk of Mycoplasma Genitalium?

Me and Adam had a date on MGE last night and have to say I agree with him, the big problem with half the people who play it, play it to win MGE which is how it sounds adapt a stupid play style that wouldn’t be helpful in 6 v 6 in order to get ranks.

so if you are one of those guys then xD.

I don’t see why he wouldn’t if it was already capped for them and he had a buff. If it give the advantage, why not do it?
