Basically, I was wondering if somebody could give me a run down of config settings which should be applied to TF2 public servers and are most popular such as should friendly fire be on or off? Crits on or off? Etc.
I’m running a 24/7 DustBowl and am not a TF2 player myself, so I’d appreciate it if you all gave me a helping hand and told me this info :)

FF off is the standard setting, crits are on on most pub servers, maybe apply classlimits (e.g. max 3 or 4 of each class allowed)
class limits in pub is most idiotic thing ever thought of

Okay so thats mp_friendlyfire 0 and whats the command for crits?

I also help in running a few public servers in the hungarian community, and here most demands are for no crits, no spread. The most popular maps are usually payloads: badwater, goldrush, barnblitz also dustbowl, maybe granary badlands, turbine

This will disable the RCON so that you won’t get h4x0red. Also post your server IP so I may offer more advice.

Do you think i’m an idiot?
I’ve been working with servers for over 5 years – the point of this post is that i’ve never played TF2 and have no idea what settings everybody likes.

Ideal pub would be as following: Heavy, pyro, spy, engineer banned, no random crits, no spread and 24/7 Granlands.
