why cant players use their own monitors at tournament finals? i mean they are allowed to choose all their other IO devices and that leads to more impressive games/shots as they are using equiptment they are used to, i cant think of any reason why not? i mean its not like a monitor can have hacks on haha

Yeah that was me, I had some sound problems, took forever to fix, then tf2 wouldn’t launch, restarted steam, TF2 still wouldn’t launch, restarted PC, steam wouldn’t launch so I went and got my PC which took 2 mins to set up.
Multiplay’s reasoning for not having people bring their stuff down is that it takes too much time to set up, but imo it would take about 10x less to set up your own stuff as you don’t have to fuck about with cfg’s etc. only to find out your tournament PC doesn’t actually work properly. Using their monitors is fine, but being allowed to us your own PC would be so much easier.

i mean fair enough making you use their towers, but for a player going from a screen of a diffrent res and refresh rate (espeshally 120 to 60) would take alot of time to adjust to. What are the fps like on them?

Not 120 constant
The reason not to have your own towers is to stop cheaters essentially and make everyone on the same playing field as all the pc’s and monitors are the same.
The only reason it takes so long to setup is because people have some many fucking cfg’s and HUD’s and god knows what else that takes an age to setup!

There was a hitreg hack called ventrilo.exe which there was a big scare about cus it was so small.
