Waebi, I’m saying that this command is classed as a cheat when commands that, in my opinion, make the game easier to play and give the player an advantage are not classed as cheats.
They are just examples ;)

Prefer the option for whatever it is to remove weapons entirely (is it 0? :P) and then some custom XHairs, but yeah, no reason I see trouble for viewmodel_fov 70 being trouble.

and they soon will be classed as cheats, bobcycle was “removed” once before, and aspectratio is a cheat in any other game. dont compare them i say.
but ye, kinda agree in allowing it.
it’s just fkin silly to be petioning for some purely aesthetic change. just email the dudes at valve until they respond. i for one think the stv gun models are ugly as fuck except for scout. but then again I dont even use gunmodels for scout so it makes no difference.
Don’t really see the point tbh, would rather see a legitimate way of removing gun models or increasing fov

To be honest I agree in a sense about the fov (to be able to change it to like 110 etc but any higher is just daft…)
Yes aspect ratio is a cheat etc but they where just examples of commands that are worse than viewmodel_fov.
It is a little pointless but the more people that agree the more likely they are to respond
So i will email them at the end of the month saying something along the lines of “We (group link), believe that viewmodel_fov should be allowed during online games that do not have “sv_cheats 1” enabled because , blah blah.
The more people the more likely they are to respond…
Viewmodel_fov 70 makes the weapons look less chunky and slow, which makes me feel more agile and ‘scout-like’, so I can snapshot easier…

I see i am not the only one that realised that having a weapon that covers 1/6 of the screen is a problem. Well i rlly enjoy that stv look, as demo u can feel much better tbh, as scout is just good looking,
i think they should have that max value locked so that like in common fov we can be free to choose.
The problem with this is that u see more of the model that they prolly dont want to be seen, so i think before that they must fix all the other bugs still around.

How do you even know that 70 is SourceTV model FOV? Did you take some random number which look close of what you see on STV?
I agree, dunno why, but when i’m playing with viewmodel_fov 70 with demoman or solly, i feel myself like pro :D
But as my friend told me, Valve better will ban us, than allow use this shit without sv_cheats 1 :DD
Anakin it doesnt have to be the EXACT SAME – as long as it feels close enough, and makes the play feel better then im fine with it.
eg. The stv one could be lower but it feels better with a higher value, so I would prefer the one that feels best…

I dont know, my friend Bun said “Try this command” etc tried it and it looks exactly like the stv… if you care that much about it being exact get screenshots of every option (maybe between 60 and 80) and compare to an STV screenshot :S

Also to get a few things straight.
This command does not affect your fov, it re-sizes the weapons.
