The reality has proven this to be simply not true. If you search for gpit/turbine pcw’s around the matchweeks that most teams have to play these maps on ETF2L/ESL, it’s quite easy to find a pcw. If not, look harder, and add team leaders of friendly/cool/cooperating/etc teams that wanna play other stuff than granlands to your friends list.
We are talking outside the 2 weeks these maps are played. We want to both practice for LAN, as well as learn the maps better. We have got some PCW’s on gpit lined up, but there is not the range of skill and playstyle, so we can’t learn how to counter different tactics from different teams. Even if you are in a mix (and a lot of teams we face aren’t) gpit is still a fun map, or at lest I find it to be so.
If you play a pcw against a team that you enjoyed, add the leader then see if they’re up for it another day.
My team always played with FLAI in PCW’s, we were always on time and we always had good games.

Yeah umm the point is it ISN’T a matchweek for these maps, nor are we in ESL. We just want to practice these maps off season. Teams seem okay with playing Turbine sometimes but Gpit is totally out the question it seems.

Well what do you expect; people wanna practice the maps that they actually have to play.
add team leaders and arrange that way. Problem solved.

in offseason there are no maps you have to play, which is why Hildreth wants to play some more than grandlands because, when nobody is forcing you(league :3) to play gpit for some reason nobody wants to either D:
Find me on steam @ 20:15 cet if you got the need to play weird ass maps.

6v6 mid on now…
20 minutes later…
“Hold on, last has crashed/gone to the toilet/is eating/restarting steam/aids/walking his dog”
Just quoting this because it’s getting too frequent. Too many people search for a game and then won’t be able to actually get 6 on and ready for 20-30 minutes. Also yeah, complaining after this point is just stupid.

ass maps.
Adds a whole new meaning to valley.

Over however many seasons now, gravel has never been all that popular for PCWs afaik. Some people seem more open to turbine this season, although I still personally think it suffers similar problems. Right now, as someone said, it’s not *too* bad to get a game during the active match weeks, but in the past with map picks then people have had gravel/turbine at any time so I suspect that has been more flexible (atleast in comparison of turbine).
Map pool has gone from several maps (granlands, gully, freight, obs) that people will happily PCW on. Gravel has never been in with that. Then two of those get removed for turbine and bazillion -> ‘Bazillion won’t be in next season’ or whatever else, new map and it takes quite a bit of accepting, even though it’s a symmetrical 5cp (which seems relatively okay, but that’s an opinion and those are always divided). Turbine somewhere near gravel-way.
So then you’re stuck with the current three. Although, we played some obs a couple of weeks ago, which was pretty refreshing.
A personal niggle is whoever i’m playing with, gravel and turbine seem to have this magic power about them to induce rage almost instantly into someone. Perhaps it’s the little more effort and teamwork involved, but I think purely on that, I wouldn’t go actively looking for a PCW early in the night as it’s not going to set the mood well. Sucks in mixes, mostly. That’s just me though, and SnowiE deals with our games so come at us, turbine and gravel!

One of the only things you can rely on between seasons is that Badlands and Granary will ALWAYS be used in each and every season. All other maps have been open to debate, some maps actually feel like a chore to play (HEYO GPIT) and some are just not fun.
Personally my team and i have always focused on Bad/Gran in pre and post-season, we will play other maps (as long as you play our map FIRST) if requested!

You may have to accept the fact, that gravel isn’t all that popular. I for once would be glad if it was dropped in s10 in favor of bazillion.
