Have you seen the damage the tsunami did? ofcourse they need some money to rebuild it.
Why would it matter that the Japanese government has money? There are over 350.000 people living in shelters who will accept all the help they can get. The (Japanese) Red Cross will have serious expenses with a disaster with this magnitude. And remember the red cross doesn’t donate directly to Japan but also to other islands in the pacific who do need financial help.
And any money that exceeds the expenses in a region willl be used for another good project, really, you cannot seriously complain about this…

If you want to help send clothes and such (like China, who sent 10000 tons of diesel and the same amount of gasoline). That is what they need right now, of course you can buy that with money. But that needs to be converted into goods first ;). Money will not be an issue, Japan is rich enough to rebuild (unlike india. thailand etc) its just getting things on the road again (which mainly comes down to logistics). Of all the countries in the world Japan is probably the best prepared.
Most of the Red Cross’ money comes from governments.

Randas almost extinct, why not donate your hat to a randa charity?
Agreed, now if I can just have your bank account details and your sort code :)
I’m glad I read the advice of people on the ETF2L forums before deciding to contribute to a cause. Phew! Close one.
right in most aspects koetje but its not the amount of money they have, no problem there, but its not like they can magically use all of it for the earthquake
donated money goes to buying blankets and shit anyway so the result is better than sending clothes (checking viability of the clothes to be sent on to the disaster struck country takes such a long time lol) even if moneys lost for the admin duties in the charities and on buying the clothes from factories

Shameless editing sir.
We’ve now raised $366 USD for the Red Cross and should hit the big $500 mark tomorrow. You can stay up-to-date by checking the progress bar at unusualhatclub.com
Hats for Help has just undergone some significant changes which should make it simpler to understand and more acceptable under the TF2 trading guidelines. Please refer to the OP.
