HP regeneration for medic is more important then dealing dmg. :<
And the default needle-gun provides you stable regeneration. :)
I mean there is a chance to miss with blut and get lower hp then using the default one.

That’s as valid an argument as it is to say “there’s a chance you hit with the blut and end up with 100hp, then taking one more shot taking you down to 60hp, instead of ..dying”.
If you can’t aim with needles then you shouldn’t be needing to argue about whether using the blut adds value to your play or not.

I die less with Needles…but then I can’t aim for shit.

Tehgnarr

is good!

Running blut gives you a higher chance surviving a 1v1 battle, running the needlegun makes you more flexible because you dont need to get to a healthpack when low on HP.

just in terms of numbers you surely get more HP back from higher regen then from blut + reduced regen (over the course of the match that is).

meds with blut don’t feel any harder to kill, 90% of the time they hardly even get their needles out. It’s harder to kill the ones that do dodgy dodging shit and get away with their super fast regens.

If you’re playing medic in a fashion that means you get more benefit from getting out a blutsauger then having passive health regen, you’re playing medic wrong.

I see a lot of people saying “oh you use needle, you doing medic wrong, ggwp”…I dont want to debate whether good medics use blut/needles or not, I just want to know it’s viability in a game.

True, whenever you have your needle gun out, it basically spells FUCKED over your head. But with blut, (assuming you dont miss 99% of the needles) doesn’t your survivability increase substantially IF caught out of position and flanked? Since, when you have your teammates around, you hardly take so much damage as to justify the passive regen boost.

Then again, like everyone says, it boils down to personal preference. :3

its not really the health regen which makes you take down scouts. it all comes down to the needles you hit.
the health regen does nothing really only makes the scout require one more hit or something, and it most likely takes 2 hits anyways so.

FIR, the scenario you just presented is indeed correct: IF you can aim the syringes, then the Blutsauger may indeed be the better option for fights. However, the default weapon has an advantage over it that pretty much negates that: You don’t have to be as careful when it comes to spam anymore, and when pushing you dont need to get a fucking medkit before you can actually go.

So are you saying Byte is playing medic wrong? :O

Jaskey

No Byte might be in the tiny minority that find it more useful to use, but tbh in general, its not like other “high” level meds use it.

And tbh, it doesnt matter, people will allways have differnt opinions, and like to spice things up abit, so again as everyone says, pp.

Then I guess its usage all boils down to the situation…if you aren’t defended properly or is often outflanked throughout the game, then blut is the way to go. If you’re covered, then the passive regen allows you to take more spam in a (rather) forward position, which could make the difference between winning and losing…

Thanks guys :3

The health you can get back from the blut is kinda useless, I mean if you hit 20 needles you get 60 health back. That’s one more shot for a decent scout, and hitting 20 needles is quite unlikely. Tbh it’s only gonna help in a few situations where you barely get away with like 10 health after hitting a decent amount of needles.

all-time +2 regeneration > potential chance (while not healing) of hitting the enemy and gain 3hp.

For my case the Syringe Gun is the better option by far.
