Okay, I know this is probably tried and tested and probably proven, but I still wonder about the practicality of using the Blutsauger in a serious match.

Yes yes we all know syringe gun offers more regen, blutsauger is shit because its -2hp, using blut means your team is bad, yada yada yada, but watching Continuity’s team fragvid got me thinking: if the medic can help provide support damage + heal at the same time (in relatively safe, no outflanked positions and such), would it be better? If a medic can take on a scout and still retain some amount of decent health after it (if you come out victorious and very much alive) as well as buy some time for the teammates to come and help, wouldn’t it be more preferred as a choice weapon? Or would the -2hp come back and bite me in the ass?

I just wish to find out about this bit of info, because if blut allows for safe aggro (yes i know, this does not compute) then why do people make it out to be such a terribad weapon?

imo Blutsauger works fine in div6, but as soon as you get decent scouts against the medic, it’s useless.

I don’t think you will be able to go “safe aggro” since other classes have nothing to be afraid of runing towards you. Those medic guns are good to fall back due their flight speed.

Personal opinion but i think that a medic that needs to use his needles is no longer a medic. And tbh only a small percent of the time will you actually get a kill the others you will just get killed, My advice let your team do the killing, If they dont, rage at them etc. and also if you seem to find yourself getting rushed by scouts and there is knowone with you, you were in the wrong place to begin with.

If the drawback would be -1hp/s instead of -2hp/s I think it would be a worthy sidegrade.

Going div4 season9 with my blut )))))

The thing is; if you’re gonna die by a scout, it’s not going to make a difference whether you had the blut equipped or not. At least with the blut you get a chance of refilling your health a bit in some situations (<3 enemy heavies, hi moony!).

there are times where you have to use your needle gun. doesnt make you a bad med if you defend yourself. i dont like the reduced ammo on the blutsauger, those 10 needles come in handy! going aggro at the right time can help your team recap middle!

Yeah I did question your use of the blut..

I think the game changer with standard as opposed to blut is mid fights and general survival I find the passive heals from the regular syringes more of a benefit.

But I guess this is a topic of preference but my view is the standard is the better choice. Not gonna argue about it as you have people like byte using bluts and then you got people like Agron using regular (and Agron isn’t really a passive medic) so work around your style of play I guess!

I wouldn’t use bellsprout being a bad medic as an example xD

I mainly use needles for spamming into choke points and doorways as I fall back. Usually just to hear if something is chasing and what it is. Syringe gun is as good as bluts for that and the advantage of the extra regen is great.

Blutsauger is obviously a better weapon but I really like being able to regen health quickly.

HP regeneration for medic is more important then dealing dmg. :<
And the default needle-gun provides you stable regeneration. :)
I mean there is a chance to miss with blut and get lower hp then using the default one.
