Just had a good chat with huhy.
Bassically we’re going to totally reset the channel and start again with a slightly different ruleset, huhy as main admin, and I’ll just be taking care of the technical stuff.
I’m sorting technical gibbles atm, but the plan is to reset the invite list, sort out some new rules then go from there. Not putting a timescale, but it’ll be pretty damn soon.

No offence to Huhy, but he doesn’t seem like a person that is completely impartial, I think it will just go tits up after a while when everyone just starts taking the piss again.

If i’m honest, there are very few people in the TF2 community I’d actually trust to run it. Huhy is one of those guys who may not seem the best candidate at first, but he works his ass off and gets things done at the end of the day. Since this thread was posted, I’ve probably had a dozen conversations with people asking about restarting the channel, and huhy’s name came up quite a few times. Was actually contemplating speaking to him about it when he popped up on IRC to ask about it himself.

this, for the the thing that killed the pickups was not bad server but the fact that the pug will probably be run by an intensely arrogant premier player who would choose a shit weapon, act like a retard in general and in mumble, and basically act like its all his
im sure theyre nice guys in their respective teams but in pugs… :)
willing to do anything like adminning or taking applications in, i got time on my hands, nothing to do

best thing would be to use a whitelist so “pro” players cant start fuck around with unlocks cos “normal” playing is to boring for them…

That’s easily done, same goes for class limits. Expect the pickup to run in like 1 week or so :)
