The UK “scene” probably has less than fifty people in it.

Everyone else does a similar thing because they have their own leagues that nobody else cares about or the majority of users don’t speak English (like Russia). Finland, Germany, Spain, Russia, Sweden all have (or had) top teams to follow and the UK doesn’t.

All you did was recycle the front page news of ETF2L and Vanilla. Other national communities do that too, but they do it in different languages and translate feature pieces.

Good on you for trying, but why you’re surprised that it got 2 hits a day is beyond me.

edit: What I mean to say is language brings people together, and since ETF2L/Vanilla/Cadred are English language community sites, there’s no room at the inn. The playerbase is way too small to support it otherwise.

It’s not supposed to be a news outlet, is the point i am trying to get across, the main page and anything posted there is secondary to the point of the site. Where on Vanilla and Cadred can anyone, properly, organise UK based events for any UK based players of the game? It’s easier on ETF2L but people complained because they didn’t have a specific place to do it on.

I’m not complaining about activity, far from it, i’m admitting that it’s going to take longer than 3 weeks to gather activity. I’m only ever responding to others comments regarding it.

Perhaps “scene” was the wrong word. I meant anyone and everyone in the UK. Not just a specific group of people.

why not just kick everyone from pixel re-implement the bot and just allow people from uk in just have a key to the channel that can be given to people once its been checked they are from the uk.

Thats totally do-able, but promise I you with 100% certainty theres not enough people to make it work.

I’ve been apart of many communities, trying to get them running etc. and it’s the toughest stuff ever, you basically have to try and draw people that are already a part of a community, to yours, and it’s really fucking impossible in some ways.

As D2M said you have a plain WordPress theme with some really lousy forum theme, this is why you plan, so you have everything looking awesome at the start.

Also this http://tf2uk.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=14 is why it failed. From the get go you had a section where people can just spew out shit everywhere “4 teh lolz xD”

If you want this to work, take it down, get help from people so it’s actually a presentable and unique site.

Get a pickup channel going, with SENSIBLE ADMINS!!! Pixel had some really fucked up and biased admins, someone people didn’t know did something wrong, banned for a week, but someone else who’s amazing at fucking the admins anus’s gets a different treatment.

@ Skyride, give me admin and I WILL make it work, I am pretty disjointed from the UK community which means I won’t be like “OH YEW GUIHSE!” to my boyfriends.

Because its to help the UK scene grow, that’s it. So things like Epic.Five won’t be a mess.

+1 to randa, I’d be willing to put some time into a uk pug channel aswell.

That’s just the higher skilled comp TF2 players, if you were to also take into consideration the lower skilled players and public gamers we are also aiming at your looking at a potential community base of thousands.
