Played a mix with him today. He’s obviously horrible at the game atm, but is very eager to learn. He even spectated us while we were playing with our main team to pick up a lot of things along the way.

I hope someone more experienced can also assist in helping this nice fellow out :)

As always we wish the best of new players. I’d be happy to answer a few questions.

Add me as well, you can watch some of the scrims and inter-clan matches that we do and I/nick can go over STV’s with you and point out good/bad plays

Stew

I suggest downloading and watching STV demos of premier div teams playing. See what they are doing and stuff.

I disagree, at least when you just get into this. The reason for this is that when you don’t really know the flow of 6v6 that well yet, it’s extremely hard to see -why- premier teams do what they do. Starting out by watching lower teams, or playing with them, will make you really see the general flow of the game. And when you’ve got that down you can move on to watching some higher skilled teams :)

It also never hurts, (well, in not in a bad way!), to watch your own demos with an overly critical eye.

Really look at what you did when you died or pulled off a nice streak or whatever, try to work out why it went wrong or right and how it could have been different. Maybe the call for support could have come earlier or you could have taken a different route to attack or retreat.

I’ve found doing this really useful and seen myself do some unbelievably stupid things, that I learned not to do…..and the occasional awseome one that I never manage again. Watch and learn man, watch and learn!

Well, ima hijack this thread, since there’s no point in making another one :]

Basically, I’m a div5 shitter with the potential to go div7. So I really wanna improve, especially now since I have no team. Don’t wanna get cold and start being worse than I am right now. Can I get some mixbuddies/merc for someone while I find a team? :]
Also, a mentor would be nice.

Pirateer

I’m willing to mentor anyone at scout and maybe demo, add ruc_pirateer5

Edit: And message me if you actually want mentoring

no offence, but mentoring from div6 players is a bit of a bad idea.

Was gonna say that, but meh.

Pirateer

thanks for the kind words, but i’ve trained a lot of people actually

just because i’m a low div player, dosen’t mean i’m a terrible mentor

don’t see how you can have the experience to mentor if you’re playing in division 6.
