You’d be much better playing for a month or so in publics and then coming over to comp TF2 and getting a mentor, you’ll learn much quicker that way.
Also choose the main class: scout, soldier, demoman or medic. Other classes are rarely used in competetive, but you should be able to play it basicly.
You can learn aim on TF2Deathmatches: http://etf2l.org/forum/general/topic-9853/?recent=247752

lobbies are slightly worse skill than pubs ;) full of pretentious div7 shitters who are the worst players and talk shit like there’s no tomorrow :D
seriously, publics are the best way to get your feet in tf2. it will teach you basic aim and gamesense, and you can work on that.
k chris ill do that. where could i go about getting a mentor?
Many ways on how to get one, however i would recomend you find a team first and then try to make friends with higher division players to help you out, Not many personal mentors can put that much time into a single person but if you make friends with people then they will probably help out whenever they can.
If you want a one now though you could use IRC channel “#tf2mentor” if its still going or MyGamingEdge.com

Yes and it’s totally worth it.

if you say so, i’ll give a try when i have 5 spare bucks.
The best way to train in competitive TF2 is to find a decent team, preferably div 6 for your level, and then scrim with them and see how you can improve and change your gameplay accordingly.
Also use the MyGamingEdge training servers for 1v1 practice and ammomod for aiming and airshots.
