Had an idea to turn gravelpit into a five point map like badlands, where point (C) would be the end caps, (A) would be the 2nd and 4th caps and the middle point being (B) – so in effect mirroring the map around (B). I can’t make maps so its just a suggestion I’m throwing out to somebody who can.
Renegade’s example:
Hmm well.. It would change the gameplay at all on Gravelpit but it’s not a bad idea :)
I’ll try my best.
Good idea :)
(Btw. you forgot to add “- Fragga” in the topic)
cp_gpit may be
well its valves fault for tagging an attack defend map the same as a linear push map. dustbowl and gravlpit should have always been ad_. cp_gpit doesnt define it well enough from cp_gravelpit, and Im sure many people already think of the original as gpit anyway. needs a new identity.
Gravel itself is perfect but not used to its full potential as most clans opt to defend only (B) which means (A) is just wasted. Turning this into a five-point map means teams would have to defend (A) ie,. point 2 and 4.
The only real problem I see is this: forward respawns and only 2 ways into point (B) ie,. the middle cap. Opening access to point (A) ie,. points 2 and 4 from the left side of the main blu spawn would be fine for teams controling middle point. Then opening the right door from main blu spawn for teams controling point 4.
cp_radar (ie,. the radar being the final caps?)
Gravel is also a map where a team can literally play any class. For example most players already know how effective a heavy is at final point, but its also very effective at point (A) due to the cap being high up, and with quick access to point (B) from main spawn I think this map would see alot of teams using the heavy class again.
If made it would probably be the first five-point control map with the influence shifted away from the scouts and more towards the heavier classes, which would make for a nice change :)
