First post here so don’t rage at me if i have posted in the wrong section :)

I had a quick search but i couldn’t really find what i was looking for. I’m not new to TF2, i got it a few months after it came out but i have only ever played it on public. I don’t really see that changing as i’ve been busy with college/social/work. I played competitive COD4 for ages which is why i thought i’d see if i can get some help with my config.

I’m not looking to play competitive TF2 atm but i wouldn’t mind getting a slight fps increase and just general input on some good things to put in your config. I like my game to look nice as i am only playing public so i don’t want to turn it into cs1.6.

What FOV would you recommend?
Can you get a lagometer up on TF2?
Whats the command to show FPS?
Whats a good FPS for TF2? (In COD4 you either want 125 or 250 stable for example)
A few commands to limit the amount of shit flying across my screen. (Dust for example)

Any other input would be nice too :)

What FOV would you recommend?
90
Can you get a lagometer up on TF2?
net_graph 1 or 4 (will eat cpu cycles, thus reduce fps if enabled all the time)
Whats the command to show FPS?
cl_showfps 1

really doesn’t matter. if your comfortable with it. it just makes you see more. if you wanna see more increase the number.

Can you get a lagometer up on TF2? net_graph 1 through to 5 gives varying information on net connection and fps etc

Whats the command to show FPS?

cl_showfps 1 “0” turns it off again

above 60 and stable is great. 120 stable is best. always cap it at a stable frame rate.

A few commands to limit the amount of shit flying across my screen. (Dust for example)
