So you want people that play other games to play competitive tf2, but not people that actually have a grasp of a class? Why is that any different? Comp CS:S players have aim and a slight knowledge of comp play which is passed over, and pub TF2 players have played the game but just need to learn to do it competitively.
Surely the more people that convert from pub to 6v6, the better the community will be, the more we will grow, and the more we will be acknowledged as a decent competitive league. Sure, there may be an influx of hurrdurr players for a bit, but that’s not really a massive problem, because everyone has to be like that at some point.
panic is obviously trolling. as far as i can remember the majority of players started on public servers.
Look at SPUF. Nothing but whine and crap. If somebody makes a stupid topic here, they usually get flamed & the topic locked. Now imagine 20 stupid posts a day about huntsman or natascha from people who are gonna ragequit the following day.
Now you might say that maybe 1 out of 10 of those newcommers, would 1 be a fine fella with great interest in TF2. If one had interest in taking the step further and play the game ‘seriously’ that person would probably end up here anyways.
(On a side note, competitive CS is way easier to convert to, since its actually the same game just less players.)

It’s honestly just how it has to be. Of course some people are gonna be retarded, but surely that’s what moderation is there for. The admins can deal with it.
