Hey folks!
Team Colonslash is a div5 (maybe 4?) team which have been told to have potential. Which is great and everything, except we seem to be hitting a wall in terms of improvement, and we would very much prefer to see this wall dissolved.
In order to achieve this, we would like to befriend some folks from the higher divisions who are willing to help us out in ways beyond the average mentoring session. Be it as a team, or each of us individually, or perhaps a combination of the two. We would, for example, want someone to hang around with our soldiers to help them on individual as well as teamplay skills, inject some (game)sense into them, etc. I also hear our medic has great trouble regarding positioning. Some help there is definitely needed. On a team level we really need to improve on stuff like, for example, pushing to second after holding last, communication, and general DM skills (maybe some tips/tricks there?).
Besides that, we would also like to befriend a div4 (maybe 3?) team (or several teams) who are willing to play a pcw against us every other week or so, and talk to us afterwards about how we did, what we did well, what we did wrong, etc. We would like to keep this up until we’re able to beat them consistently (and then we can swap roles! :P).
In return (to the community), we are definitely willing to help other teams out, once we reach the skill level required to do so.
Some additional info about us:
We’re a mature bunch of folks (most of us anyway :P) and we’re always up for a laugh.
We are however very serious when it comes to matches.
We have a designated day in the week where we will discuss tactics, and another where we will watch a POV or STV demo (sometimes of ourselves, sometimes of other teams). Most other days are spent playing pcw’s where we will try out the tactics we’ve come up with, or refine the ones that have worked for us.
Outside matches we find ourselves playing tf2 in various other ways, i.e. soldiers on turris/bball, medic and pocket swapping roles on a public server, etc, etc.
If you or your team are interested in helping us out, leave a message below or contact EvilDinner http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198001282267/ or myself http://steamcommunity.com/id/SpikeHimself on Steam.
Thank you <3
Wow, We were in your exact position about 2 months ago, Then we decided to join vertex, It helped us so much in improving as a team and with our communication, Playing double mixes with Stinson was awsome. Bit of adivice, If you need some help, try finding it from people you no, See if anyone is willing to back you up. gl
NOTE: One thing that we found particually helpful was specing a game stinson played whilst in there mumble listening to there calls and comms, It made our main caller really focus more in matches. Just something to think about if your gonna find a team to help you.
NOTE2: You could always play us on a weekly basis, we are aiming div 4 for S8 and we have the time, if you want. add me on steam if you want to talk.

Some teams just want to win, other teams play and win. Best of luck to you, sir.

I could give some general pointers if you want. Don’t have time to watch stv’s and such, but just general things to be wary of when for example trying to recap spire.

awesome attitude :)
maybe you could jump on our mumble sometime if you feel like that would improve your comms which is key in tf2 imo

Hard work pays off! Good luck, I hope you find an awesome mentor TC.
@ TCM, most of you guys are always helping out the tf2 community. I appreciate you guys especially Byte. Byte has been mentoring us since past few days. <3 Did you contact Byte yet TC?

Oh God leave Byte alone! The guy’s so busy! He deserves a holiday!
Once again proving that TC is the next big thing. Check out the commitment and strive for perfection!
Good job Spike! And good luck TC!
Well, I can give you a few pointers, if you let me in your mumble, and get a team who I can spectate while you match against. Try having your soldiers go in a dm server and doing 1on1, that can give you an idea of how the other soldier plays, and has improved our solly combo’s teamwork.
You could have your soldier medic combo go into a pub, like a 32 man or a 24 man badwater. The soldier should be doing his regular killing, and the medic just focusing on dodging spam. I used to do this in an older team of mine, it was loads of fun and I think it helped our medic a bit.
Contact me on steam, and I’ll see if I can help in any way. Our team is applying for div 4 on Season 8 btw.
Wow guys thanks for all those positive replies! It’s really nice to be in a community that wants to share a little love even for small timers like us :D
Good team, help them
Teach EvilDinner not to use stickies and rollies all the time.
