Hey guys
I’ve just bought a new pc, and freshly installed TF2, but I’m having sound problems, almost like missing sound. I’ve tried with old and new sound drivers in the pc.
PC Details :
OS : Windows 7 64bit
Manufacturer : Alienware
Model : Aurora
Processor : Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz (8 CPUs)
Memory : 3gig DDR3
Direct X : 11
GFX Card : Nvidia GeForce GTS240
Sound : Onboard Realtek sound card
No idea whats wrong :( please help!
what kind of sound problems?
i had a sound problem week ago- i couldnt hear my own shooting, reloading etc, but i heard my voice commands, screaming from damage, and all sounds of other players.
reinstalling the game was a solution. now its ok.

Exactly that, reinstalled and didn’t put my config on, seems to be ok now, but I’m worried that it might be a config problem :/ any idea what in the config could be breaking the sound? :P
it might be as simple as you putting the surround sound on in the settings, have a look under the audio tab to make sure it isn’t set to 7.1 or something.
just remove any snd and audio commands from cfgs when u install them?

dont worry, first i tried to execute tf2 without config too, everything was good and then i replaced all my old folders (cfg, maps etc) and all was good again.

For the record, none of the commands in any of my configs will cause this.

for ur packet loss thingy or what not… dunno bout sound stuff
Thanks animal, sound is fixed now, but I’m still getting packet loss/choke
I get it in 4 different ways
0 loss 0 choke
0 loss 10 choke
30 loss 0 choke
70 loss 30 choke
and its almost always those values, I’ve tried a lot of reg fixes with no results yet. Anyone with any ideas please feel free to post, I’ve phoned the ISP and they say the line is ok, so I’m thinking its a windows 7 problem. as its not just in TF2 that I’m getting loss, almost all the games are feeling this horrid effect :(
