Indeed.
However, if you’re new to .tga you’ll need VirtualDub and an Encoder to make what is a bunch of frames and a .wav file into a movie. I’d suggest following the guide on the website: Linketh.

Same if I use the default recording (tga +wav) I use vegas to put them together much easier than virtualdub imo.
Yeah when it’s laggy in-game recording when I view it back it’s perfect albeit a bit fast-paced so I have to slow it down to 0.67 to look right or mabe someone can tell me the exact right speed or the fix to this?
Just for anyone who has shit fps when recording with pldx thanks to the great graphics one thing that works for some strange reason is pressing esc and idling in the menu. I don’t know why or how but fps is better there and recording a 30 minute match won’t take 2 1/2 hours(I know from experience of recording for 2 1/2 hours ;D) Sorry if this was posted anywhere before I didn’t steal this idea(no copyright infringement intended :D) I worked this out so try it.
When I record a tga or an avi it doesn’t matter which it seems to either record parts of the footage or barely none at all. Say I record a 10 second video with tga there might only be 10 tga files in my tf folder so when I encode them or compile them I don’t have any footage. Is there any fix?

did you set the framerate?
Um dunno what you mean if it’s in virtualdub then no but if not in vdub I only have about 10 frames which is like the first sec of the recording
Umm I’m actually retarted so that doesn’t help me because I don’t know what it means what it does and what it changes.

don’t do this
You might not have many .tgas because you are pressing esc to idle in the menu. Just give it time to record, I know it’s boring :P

ok thanks guys! :D
So, I used this tool yesterday to record my first demo. I already wondered why the GUI didn’t see any TGA sequences, even though I made 4. The “Delete All TGA sequences” thing is greyed out.
This morning, I found out that my cfg folder inside /tf/ was gone. Bye bye autoexec, scripts, network settings, etc :/
So someone told me that maybe I could run the tool again, make it launch TF2, and close it, so that it would replace the correct cfg files (even though they were nowhere to be found, neither in the /tf/ folder nor in the recording_tool folder). So I tried, opened up the tool, and encountered a big error message upon trying to make it launch TF2.
Pastebin of the error message: http://ruby.pastebin.com/PZ1h0vgz
Am I a retard or am I just unlucky? (or both) What happened here?
