broesel's Crosshair Switcher
Created 26th July 2010 @ 19:03
Hi!
This is a simple Script that allows you to switch between crosshair- and viewmodel-settings for each slot and class individually. It also doesn’t show the behaviour of many other crosshair switcher scripts to screw up lastinv (Q) and +quickswitch.

is there any difference between this and Aron’s?

–> My script works like TF2, Arons works like Aron’s – so not a “real” crosshair switcher

wait what? :S
Last edited by Defur,
my script (& default TF2)
slot 2 –> slot 3
you press Q
–> slot 2
you press Q
–> slot 3
Aron
slot 2 –> slot 3
you press Q
–> slot 2
you press Q
–> slot 1 (ONE), not 3 again like real lastinv
Also, with Arons Script you can’t use quickswitch and then switch through the slots with the number keys :)
With your script can you switch eg heavy minigun –> sandwich while the minigun is spinning?

That would be kind of cheating if my script enabled something like this, but maybe I just misinterpreted your explanation.
Do you mean instantly switching to the sandvich without waiting for the gun to spin down while it is shooting?
Or do you mean that the crosshair but not the weapon switches when you change the slot while shooting or spinning up/down? Because that’s the case, yes. And no, it can’t be avoided :(
I could make the script bind Mouse1/Mouse2 to some aliases that temporarily unbind the slot keys while shooting / spinning up, but the bug would still appear on spinning down as you let go of Mouse1 or Mouse2 for that and thus execute the “-” alias which would bind the slot keys again.
It’s not very customization-friendly with all the binds already in the scripts. What if I don’t use number keys to change weapons? Or I use q for something else?
You might be better off just defining a bunch of aliases and presenting them to the user, or make a .exe with a cute user interface where there user can change the key binds :)
In my current xhair script when your minigun is spinning and you change weapon, the xhair changes but the weapon doesn’t. Example: minigun spinning, you press q, xhair changes to 2nd slot, you press mouse1 and you still have the minigun with a different chrosshair

Yeah, just what I meant in the last paragraph of my above post :>
And as mentioned, it can be fixed, tho not for “down-spinning” :(

Yeah, will try that :)

No. No cute UI :D, a cleaner cfg structure should be enough :)

Btw my main thought behind making this script was to use it for myself.
I released it because it’s – even though not 100% user friendly – way better than Arons, so at least one step forward.
You call it “simple” and yet it has ~60 lines in each class file for changing crosshair and viewmodel distance and is hosted on Google Code.

no need to get upset here bro

WTH – did you even look at it, yet alone read the Readme file!?
i took a gander at it yes

The script itself may be long, but as for the settings section, there are 12 lines per class, 4 per slot – you can’t make it any simpler.
the rest you could

Also, wtf is your problem with Google Code?
just thought the idea was a hilarious
csbanana doesn’t support subversion, else you could upload it there as well
