I get this in my console when TF2 opens.
Can’t use cheat cvar fog_start in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.
Can’t use cheat cvar fog_end in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.
Can’t use cheat cvar fog_color in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.

Another quick update: after some changes that Valve have recently made to the game I no longer recommend using dxlevel 80, please use dxlevel 81 instead (the launch options have been changed appropriately in the configs).
@lj — that’s unrelated to these configs, those messages are normal and appear for everyone.

81 + cfg update = +11fps :o
had like 2months old maxframes… n1, so awesome :P

there are more changes than just that. update the whole thing.

Use -1, it autodetects.

thats just cheating :D same fps with it set to 1 :P

Hm? I didn’t change that. It’s always been 0 on maxframes.
thanks for the little config update chris.
dxlevel 80 and 81 have zero performance difference for me so i guess I’ll use
dxlevel 81 since dx 80 is no longer fully supported, apparently.
For those poor souls who play on shitty computers and want to disable water for extra fps use this command…
//black water (not recommended unless desperate for an fps boost)
r_waterdrawrefraction “0”
you can also try these but im not sure if they exist in tf2
(the following commands work in css)
//no gun sway
cl_wpn_sway_interp 0
cl_wpn_sway_scale “0”

no problem.
for the record, those commands don’t work in TF2.
ty Chris for all your config. I’m fine with dx9 (i have stable 120 fps) even if sometimes my tf2 crash. dx9 is so good compared to dx81 i can’t switch it back :P
