i don’t get it i get more fps from m0re’s cfg :(
so, i took some screenies to show how it looks like:
http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/8871/cpfreightfinal10000.jpg
http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/8996/cpfreightfinal10001.jpg
http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/4574/cpfreightfinal10002.jpg
and im not satisfied with it!
so i wanted to show how it should look like with highquality and maxquality
but that is what i got: http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/8928/cpfreightfinal10005.jpg
so basically i want to have it look like that:
http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/1728/cpfreightfinal10008.jpg
http://img837.imageshack.us/img837/1504/cpfreightfinal10010.jpg
i took those screenies with quantums ultrahigh fps config.
when im in the water, the water looks ok (cheapwaterend and stuff) that is fine!
but like i said, the effect to look into and out of it is messed up.
also here is my moified version of your moreframes cfg. http://pastebin.ca/1906168
http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/1728/cpfreightfinal10008.jpg and http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/8871/cpfreightfinal10000.jpg look the same to me aside from the lack of filtering (which also causes the black edge where the corners are).
I’m not really seeing the issue.

How does hyperthreading affect TF2 – should I enable/disable it and which cvars should be enabled accordingly?

If by hyperthreading you mean threading (I don’t think you actually mean HT), then yes, enabling it should improve performance.
Threading commands are set in my configs by default.

I actually meant HT. :D

There’s no reason to turn it off.
Yeah, but it doesn’t work like actual multithreading, i.e. mat_queue_mode 1 works better than 2 (-1 detects multicore rendering as enabled, I assume it’s 2). What should it be set to then? And what does ‘legacy default’ mean in that case?

As far as I am aware:
-2 is asynchronous single thread (legacy)
-1 is autodetect (0 or 1 depending on specs)
0 is synchronous single thread
1 is queued single thread
2 is queued multithreaded (buggy)

since dual core support on tf2, it should stay enabled… eg “-1” it will detect two cores and increase performance
but ur right, for single core optimized apps, HT disabling would increase fps
in other news… p4 is outdated for decent playability on newer source engines

mat_filterlightmaps
mat_filtertextures
i already had it set to 1
0 is even worse…
