"Post-remover" for own threads?

I was wondering and would like to hear everyone’s opinion about it, if we could have a “post-remover” that we can use in our own posts.

Example: You make a recruitment thread, but you’d like to keep your thread clean. But then all of a sudden a troll appears, he trolls your topic or flames you or w/e and there’s nothing you can do to stop him? He’s ruining your thread and the only thing you can do is watch? I’d say give us a Post-remover! Simply to remove nonsense posts and to keep your topic clean. Ofcourse only the person who made the topic/thread would have these rights, and he’d be able to delete any posts that he doesn’t like to have in his topic. I think it would come in pretty handy as this would lead to LESS FLAMEWARS and other bullshit.

What do you think?

peace.

No, because it’ll defeat the purpose of debates etc if idiots just delete all the posts that dont agree with them.

Its been talked about before and no one wanted it if i remember right.

I totally agree with you on the first part, as I saw this problem to and I didn’t really find a solution for it, I was hoping it would come in this thread. But I didn’t know someone already started a topic like this. Appologies.

For normal threads, god no.

For recruitment thread, I can kinda see where you are going and agree 50/50.

Very easy to abuse. A lot of people fall out with their clan when they leave, then there’s always a big argument about it on the recruitment thread. If one was able to delete those posts you could quite easily cherry pick your posts to make it look like you left them because well, whatever reason you like – they were into kiddie pron?

Then that’d lead to people making forum posts saying “RE: THIS ASSHOLE RECRUITMENT THREAD” and then they could cherry pick what THEY wanted to appear on the thread and…..

Well, utter chaos.

This is not gonna happen. Plenty of reasons are mentioned above :)
