Rather than just having the Nations Cup once in a blue moon, why not keep things semi-active throughout the year like they do in the soccer world?
Perhaps one week/weekend every two months could be set aside for national exhibition games; basically like an official PCW. The results could count towards ranking in future events but their main focus would be stirring up a bit of national pride :)
I know some national teams went to some effort to establish websites and more, so this sort of thing could provide the impetus to keep them going.
Also, could be a good opportunity to test out new ideas such as the possibility of nations fielding more than one team, as was suggested a few months ago.
On the other hand, not everyone participates in the national games, so in that sense it may seem like a waste of a week to many. I guess it could also be used as a breakmop-up week for the league?
Another (less dramatic) option would be a National Ladder where teams are free to schedule as they see fit.
Would be nice to see. But i would be more interested to see more intercontinental clan battles. Home and away games on as neutral servers as possible. Would be cool to see the differences. Not just the same old people all the time.
Sounds like a good idea! +1
I agree. I personally get bored while watching other people play any kind of sport, I only ever enjoy participating myself, but loads of people seem to love watching national team matches and top div matches.
And it seems a great way to encourage people to play competitive (like they’re on etf2l’s site and they see ENGLAND! v Denmark or w/e, and they join the STV) by seeing how it’s done by srs players.
This sounds like a good idea! It would mean that some national teams could get some regular games in as a team. Making them alot better together and would create epic games in the Nations Cup when it comes around!
It’s gonna be some epic matches between team wales and team romania. Looking forward to it
Cmon man! You can get some games in with the Finland Z Team ))))
