Hello people. Maybe someone of you have seen me playing pickups or haven’t seen me at all, that’s fine – I’m a new guy trying to push in competitive side of this exciting online FPS.
I had some tips from friends and just some kind people on IRC, but that’s just overall, I would like to know so much better about the clases I am playing. I would say I am a good sniper, but I was told that sniper can’t be a main class, so I think it’s one of these two – scout and demoman. Would apreciate any tips on the gameplay, movement etc. I have posted my Steam ID on my profile, so you can contact me via steam or message me on IRC nickname ninjarudolf.
Thank you.
First off, its almost impossible to play demo and sniper for your team. A better combo would be scout/sniper.
Mostly because you play with 2 scouts and 1 demo, so you’re easier to trade a scout for a sniper then demo for sniper.
You wanna add things like your gaming exp (i.e. have you played cod or css competitive) and what you are aiming for in tf2 (fun comp. or high comp.).
Tf2 is unlike any other fps game, but if you’ve played another fps to a high competitive level, you will atleast have some form of aim :P
Just watch a lot of demos, get with a team (and STICK with it, ffs), play pickups, and be as active as you can on comms.
GL!
I can’t judge myself, but players whom I played with said I’m a good sniper, and have decent scout aim. I have played online FPS for over 10 years now ( including CS 1.6, COD4, Quake and a bit of TFC ). I’m aiming for the highest possible level, always have been aiming for the highest in every online FPS. You could play a game with me and judge me, so I could know about what could I do in the curent level and what would I need to do to get higher eventually.

He did say Scout or demo, and a good Scout/sniper combo is always welcome i think. :P
Well besides that, playing a decent amount of pu’s with the guy. friendly guy, and got some decent comms, already a low+/mid- player i would like to think. Scout is not as good as it could be, but demo and sniper is at mid- atm i think. so GL in your search Ninja, and hope you find a decent friednly clan who can help you evolve. and you can help out aswell. :)

demo/sniper wont work fyi, as he implied
Thank you for the feedbacks. I would still be thankfull for anyone who could teach me something I should know about these clases I am playing with, to play at decent level.
#tf2mentor or the mpuk pickup channels in quakenet, ask Byte to mentor you. He’s got enough exp on all classes to give you some pointers. (and he likes mentoring I think) :)
Thank you, I’ll try my luck there. Topic is still up – I’m looking for a kind person to teach me stuff to get higher.
Just fyi – this is my 1st week of playing 6on6 game type.
I can mentor you in tf2 general competitive things :) Nigh on #tf2mentor.

Thank you for the offer, but I can be quite sure I know the basis of the clases I’m playing. I would like you to be more detailed – where should I be in an X situation when we have Y people down etc, etc. I haven’t got any timing sense where to be and what to do then. That’s the main reason I would like to find a mentor.

oh shi-
Topics like this always put a smile on my face. Just nicely contradicts the “tf2 is dead” troll **cough** Evil **cough** ( :D ). I mean here we have someone whos already been a PC gamer for a long time coming to TF2.
Just a tip, pickup1 isn’t going to really teach you 6v6 well. To improve, you’re really going to need to just get the basics, and then join an active team. Pickups are more of a boredum thing. :)
If Bytes happy to help, then theres not really anything better than you can get than that.
P.S. Agron, you should TOTALLY be a TF2 mentor, you give some amazing tips on these forums and im sure people would be cueing up to hear you say it on mumble. :D
