Unnecessary amount of effort, better spent elsewhere, since you can edit your own posts. If you didn’t “mean” to post in the first place, don’t press the damn button.

Think twice.

Just imagine the flame wars you could start, then simply delete the “spark” before an admin reads the thread.

Aye, but thats the way BAD forum software works. :P

phpBB, SMF, vBulletin, etc,,, all the other well known and commonly used forum software work simply by marking a no-show against the post. This means that when anyone other than an admin reads the thread, those posts are then not-shown however it will show to admins when they read it. I.e. its not really delete so-to-say, it just hides it. The actual post is still in the database.

However for something like etf2l where everyone posting is at least half-smart, I really don’t see the point. Don’t post it unless you really think you should. This is americanised thinking, replacing responsibility with potential liability and blame.

Just think… **safety smile**

Not really necessary. Though i think you should fix the double-post thingy, which seems to be a common issue on the forums. Simply put a timelimit between when posting, as in “you have to wait 30 seconds to post again” or something. That might require the entire forum system to be changed though, no idea :P

I’ve now implemented a simple double post protection. (you can’t post more than once in 30 seconds in any particular thread).

However, for reasons mentioned before, deleting posts is not necessary.
Thinking about what you are writing before you post it is much simpler. :)
