Hi guys, I just kind of stumbled over a google link to here.
I’m B.A., the creator of ctf_hoops_beta. I just wanted to let you guys know that the FPS issue is being addressed to more adequately accomodate the people who are having framerate issues. I’m glad you guys had fun with it, I’ve favorited your forums and will let you guys know when ctf_hoops_beta2 is released.
A little extra background on the map for you guys and an invitation to help the project by providing feedback :
My younger brother requested a basketball themed map which was strategic, fast paced and “insane”. What you guys played is what was produced by that request.
Our testing pool was quite small (only about 8 people) and one sided toward current hardware (which didn’t help us much on the performance tuning side). The initial beta release was intended to help gain feedback so that it may be improved. There hasn’t been a lot of suggested changes other than fixes for the framerate issues (other than a few complaints about the launchers).
If you guys have any suggestions other than fixing the framerate issues (which I am currently working on as I work on another more prevalent project) please feel free to let me know on the forums at http://www.b3gamers.com, my e-mail [email protected] or in the feedback section of the map’s page on FPSBanana.com @ http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/83755 . If you guys happen to visit the FPSBanana page, please feel free to add feedback (which can definitely include the framerate issue, honest feedback is what I’m after) and rate the map.
Also to let you guys know, I’m planning on using this map for other themes & gameplay modes or even other variations of hoops once I stablize the overall performance of the map itself. Feel free to stop by the B3 gamers forums, register and post in the section “Team Fortress 2 Map Announcements & Previews” under “{A TEAM}B.Å.Baracus[B³]” in the ctf_hoops_beta feedback thread and post any feedback you may have for the current configuration or even for separate future versions. Any feedback implemented, which any of you guys supply, will of course be credited inside the map which it is implemented into.
Take it easy guys, LoL at the “airstab” and once again “I’m glad you liked it”. =)
****I’m sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. I was directly linked to here by google and can’t remove the post to relocate it to a more suitable location. Instead of double posting I’ll leave it here and let you guys remove it.
