All the teams have 3 weeks for playoffs plus each week is one prem playoff. 4v3, winner v 2nd, winner v 1st. So 3 weeks is justified.
And well, 3 weeks are needed before the season, iirc signups are running for about 2 weeks already. And each day is needed there, until the last day theres teams coming in to sign up. Additionally you have map polls and most importantly you have to put the provisional divisions together, adjust them to each sign up, publish the provisional divisions, deal with the people complaining, adjust in some cases again, publish again, give teams time to schedule, set Default Dates and THEN the season starts.
Signups for S12 started on the 9th of April, with divisions announced on the 22nd and week 1 starting on the 29th. Oh wonder, thats 3 weeks.
Dont talk about the work, effort, time and input needed, if you have dont the slightest clue or insight of what is happening to make it all possible at all. Your comments just show that you have no idea, “No. Just no” … very convincing.

Actually yes!
Which of these data do you think is incorrect and how much time would you calculate for each item?

Use yank system.
???
Profit.
Yes, lets make 3 big divisions, this would allow us to have uneven matches for more than half the season, huge playoffs that either take forever to resolve or have matches pre scheduled at awkward times so you end up playing 3 playoff matches per week (the latter is what we yanks do). Then, whenever you announce the season, delay starting by 2-3 weeks, this being in addition to the 2 months we take off between seasons because we have to fit in a LAN, off season for the invite players, rule changes, map changes and other things.
Dont use our system please.
Why not just make the whole season shorter?
I took a quick look at “dropped teams” thread, and the conclusion was, basically, that a lot of teams are active only for a short period of time, let it be for internal grudges, real life reasons or anything else.
Therefore, a classic reason to drop is ” Well, we don’t play anymore, “Nickname” has some troubles with his study so yeah we can’t play”.
Wildcards, even after the introduction of “wildcard every gaming week”, can’t solve all the problems, sadly, as if an average team has them, it’s unlikely they will be cool enough to overcome by changing their roster etc. Most people are crappy leaders.
All things combined, if a season goes for only a month, number of dropped teams could be reduced. 7 games a month is nothing, as most of team play like 4 times a week.

I very much like this idea but I doubt it’s feasible logistically. Teams like to practise specific maps and they tend to need a week for it. Gravelpit being the prime example.
That’s a good and valid point, but a mappool is always published before the start of the season; that said, teams DO have a chance to practice it. However, it’s really hard to find an opponent for a map like gravelpit, because it is considered to be “bad”, and you have a good chance to either not find an opponent at all or, more likely, to have the opposite team whining about “change map plz this is shit”.
Therefore it could be implied that most of the teams are actually too lazy to practice new stuff and, instead, they tend to play granlands (which has its reasons as well, but let’s not change the topic), hence shortening a season won’t do any noticeable harm.
