Too many teams fold, so with 8 teams per division, you only get to play a couple of games. Make it 10 again. What say you?
Well the reason we have 8 team divisions is to make the season shorter so we can fit 3 within one year, otherwise it would not be possible.
Also a shorter season has less folds. Yes some divisions are unlucky with folds, that is part of ETF2L I guess, we have been lucky in Prem / Div 1 this season, teams have actually been working hard and putting effort into staying together and seeing the season out, which is really good I give everybody credit for doing so. (0 folds, yay!).

52 weeks in a year
8×3 = 24 weeks of TF2 games
52-24 = 28 weeks of no TF2 games
2×3 = 6 weeks of additional TF2 games to fit in
28-6 = impossible

28-6-3-3 = 16 weeks for off season and announcements/planning. Ahh fuck it, it’s impossible guys.

Not sure what you are doing there Mark, when 8 teams participating its 7 game days, because the teams are not playing against themselves for example.
52 weeks a year
3 weeks preparation/signups/polls/prov.divs/actual divs
7 weeks of matches
1 week catch-up
3 weeks playoff
= 14 weeks per season
If you go with 10 teams per div, it is 9 weeks of matches, therefore = 16 weeks.
14×3= 42
52-42= 10
16×3= 48
52-48= 4
As you can see, 10 teams per division and 3 seasons per year would leave us with 4 weeks of TF2 free time, which is effectively one month. During summer less teams sign up due to several reasons (exams, vacation, fuckin’ SUMMER), so which one to choose, May? June? July? August? You could consider all of them pretty much. And since we are not interested in having another AFS, I think having an effective down time of 2.5 months suits us better. :)
