All the winners of 6a,b c etc play in a cup to see who’s the best out of the division. Not restricted to div6 (this system would work for all divisions). I can understand there would be slight problems in the case of odd numbers or numbers that arent square but we perhaps could resolve this by getting the teams that came 2nd to playin the cup as well?
Feedback/comments appreciated.
It adds some more weeks to the season which makes it harder and harder to run 3 seasons per year
That’s a fair point but I still think it would spice things up a bit. I know how hard it must be to get funding for prizes and stuff but for the lower divs, it feels a little anti-climactic at the end of the season. Fighting for the title of “Winner of div 6” etc would in a way, make it worth fighting for without the need for a real prize.
Prizes for lower divisions are usually a problem because some teams might try to get a lower seeding to increase their chances at winning stuff. Also, we do not have that much to give out anyway :)
What do you think about an optional playoff for all divisions where only the winners can sign up?
Like the idea of playoffs and agree with division ends being a bit anti-climatic. But having 12 extra weeks in division 6 and 8 in d5 might be a bit more trouble than its worth, and the optional playoff doesnt really solve anything, still faces the same problem incase all the winners want to play.
@condom the way i pictured it was a form of knockout system where the amount of players halfs with every round. Supposing every team plays 1 match a week (this number can be worked on), by week3 we would have the top 3 in div 6 going competing for the number one spot. (12>6>3)

You’re not fighting to win your division though (thats merely a small part of it); you’re fighting to make your way to prem.
Could make it a one-night/weekend/all-week-cup affair, 1 map knockout done with map elimination, badlands only or w/e combo suits the most.
Higher divs could have 2 maps per game or top 2 from the div entering.
12 Division 6 teams make 4, 3 team leagues playing 1 round against the other 2 teams. Bottom team in each league drop out then QF, SF and F.
8 Division 5 teams play QF, SF and F over 2 maps each round.
6 Division 4 teams make 2, 3 team leagues playing 1 round against the other 2 teams. Bottom team in each league drop out then SF and F.
5 Division 3 teams make a 5 team league playing 1 round against the other 2 teams. Bottom team in the league drops out then a SF and F.
Top 2 from each Division 2 makes 6 Division 2 teams and make 2, 3 team leagues playing 1 round against the other 2 teams. Bottom team in each league drop out then a SF and F.
Extra week or 2 at most and a whole lotta fun.

@Spike that goal seems so far away its hard to picture for many people. This idea in a way, gives fun little booster goals kind of like a wireless booster in a library. I think i kinda trailed off a bit there, but I hope you get the general idea ^_^
@Monkeh that was beautiful. If this was facebook, I’d make another account just to like that comment twice.
Wouldn’t this make the divisions for the next season even more accurate? Everyone’s like buhuhuing about every team that’s too good for their div and shit, so wouldn’t a faceoff between the division winners make the division placement easier?

How would it affect division placement? If you win your division, you are promoted regardless of how strong or weak your division was. That’s what promotion is about – you don’t need to win scrims against high level teams between seasons to get promoted one div up if you don’t want to.
