We already got demo, heavy, medic limit 1.
Im burned out, and cba with the old format anymore.
9v9 inspired ofc, why not make a experiment cup with 6v6 class limit 1 for ALL classes.
Since obviously, we need a change in the game, to make the gap between pub and competitive less huge is terms of the general gameplay.
Highlander is ofc closest to public play, but is a bit too hectic/too much going on and having to be extremely cordinated, and strict comms in order to progress with your team
The top scene (ehhhh, what scene) have to accept a change for once, and drop the boycott bullshit like last time(s).
Some of you ofc wont agree with me, but I think such a cup would be worth it.
Yay or nay?

If you allow unlocks so Pyro can detonator jump and Heavy has GRU then I can see it working…not fun to play but working. ;P
on pub the team with most soldiers/demos/heavies wins, so CL1 doesn’t resemble a good pub
or…allow gunboats
All that would happen is a perma-sniper/heavy would be run. Or at least a new meta would arise, still complaints that pyro etc is not run.
Unlocks would still be an issue.
Although I appricate the idea, just doesn’t solve the problem.
Also if you are tired, take a week off, when you come back you will remember why TF2 is awesome <3 works for me.
One Night Cup wouldn’t be wrong ;p
Nothing wrong with a 1 night cup.
To get things out of the way, I’m not sure I like the format itself – need to think more about that, but it’s beside the point,
But the thing I react to most is that the competitive scene should not decide its format to appease players from public servers. In my world the sole deciding factor should be if the format is competitive [might be a bit of a blanket statement] and logistically feasible. Now cl1 might just be a better competitive format than the current one, but that for me should be the deciding factor.
Secondly, you state that the top scene have to accept change, why is that? I’m not part of it, but it seems a bit of a weird statement to make when there isn’t even a consensus that change is needed – gameplay wise.
Just to be clear, I’m not against trying to get new players into the game, but at the same I disagree that comp should be specifically tailored to get more players in as the sole deciding factor on how it should be played. Then again, if it turns out that cl1 is a superior format, sure why not?

This feels unmotivated. Why should we all of a sudden play a cup because of a prem player being bored with the game? quit the game for all I care, I will if this change goes through.
You want to apply more limits to current 6v6…
to create another way to play tf2…
thus splitting highlander and 6v6 communities…
in a game that is already seen as “dying”…
because you think it would appeal to people who play tf2 without said limits…
who in turn; complain about how we have class limits…
because we only ever play 4 classes…
even though all classes are allowed…
just so you can probably play gunslinger engineer..
Honestly wouldn’t mind a one-off night fun cup though
(Beating a dead horse with this format…)
(Want to make more but I’ve got to go D:)
(Edited for Bold smiley and one night cup opinion)

Great post Sir, reflects my thoughts perfectly. A++ and would read again.
Fun cup with a view to never making it a rule is fine, but seriously, THERE’S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE FORMAT OF COMP TF2. OK, rules and unlocks can be discussed, but the basic set-up of CL1 for heavy, medic and demo is perfect. It’s been tested for like 8 seasons or w/e and no-one else really seems to mind.
Wireplay did indeed have a 7v7 cl1 league, in fact they had 8 seasons of 7v7 action. Let me guess…you never signed up or played in it? Your fault and problem. Look out for a new season being annoounced…if it does.
Not having a solly or scout buddy would take a lot of the fun out of it for a lot of people I know who really enjoy the team-within-a-team aspect, it wouldn’t be the same for a scout and pyro to team up I don’t think.

Nothing wrong with class limits we have now. BEST GAME EVER.
