An interesting point that was raised in “The Filter Bubble” (good book, should be read if you are interested in the internet) was the choice that Facebook made with the Like button.

Instead of labeling it “like”, having a “+interesting” or “+important” button, this would mean that more of the important things getting attention, such as political news or the like, instead of personal or entertainment.

Just a interesting idea about how that simple design choice effects what information we consume.
