Unfortunately, this is an exception what you experienced right there.
I also had my share of aggressive, unpolite and brainless russians as well, sometimes even with worse things like racism and serious personal insults – which led me to the decision not to debate with any russian war arrangers anymore, but just to wait for a default date and to go with that.
This rule suggested by Chris should have been established years ago tbh – for the sake of the majority of (central) european people playing in this league. If the russian teams don´t agree, fair enough – there are enough of you out there to have a league of your own and play at random times.
Me too.
+1, most definitely.
one minor nitpick though:
team A can only play at early o’clock, outside of the allotted standard match time (eg: russian team)
team B can play anytime, including early o’clock (eg a western EU team that do start playing early regularly)
If team B assert falsely that they can only play in the allotted standard match time, and team A have no way of being able to play in that time, team B claim a default (illegitimately?).
As I said this is a minor nitpick, I don’t think it’s a likely situation, but it is a potential loophole that may want looking at. Although, given that the allotted standard time is indeed the standard, is a team asserting they only can/want to play matches in that time even if they can play outside of it really that bad?
I’m really just pondering outloud/through a keyboard here.
EDIT – missed the ‘unless both teams agree’ clause that basically closes this whole thing. nvm!

I think that a team is in need of a serious reality check if they’re claiming default wins falsely just to get better rankings.
Think this rule would be a good one although I’ve never had any problems scheluding with anyone =)
Whatever happened to common courtesy? Find a decent time both teams can play. Or are you claiming you can’t have one date in one week (or 2) you can play at an earlier time then 20-21 CEST?
Russians should try to move their times up, western people should try to move their times down. Find a common hour, and voila, match planned.
And Kharnac makes a valid point. It will most likely happen.

We have 1 soldier who works everyday during the week and the other soldier works weekends so yes, I am saying we can’t play earlier on any day.
One other note to anyone who needs arrange a match with me in the future; be rude about it and I won’t budge our times at all.

Wireplay does this, works perfectly.
Actually this is something I don’t think will work. Simply because if you can’t fill up a whole div of russian teams, theres gonna be one very pissed off CET based team. Also the russians who were not put in this div if there was too many teams for one div would be complaining.
I think we all agree that unless russia gets a better time zone they should be removed from ETF2L. I had this problem aswell, they use a wildcard to get the match earlier at like.. 17 and we let them have it, they still came with 2 mercs…

You could just make 1 div called russian, and in this div only russians will be allowed to compete, every russian team will be in here and will have to battle eachother atleast once. Problem solved.
I like how all the people madding and whining are just div6 bads in contrast to the ones actually proposing something useful.
how about we ban all russians but the one I like, at least its a less retarded and biased solution than some presented here

Maybe you should use a merc.

On the contrary, I think we all agree that we don’t. Excluding Russians will gain us nothing.

Tbh what benefit is there from them being on etf2l if they are not gonna mingle with other people? I’ve actually met a few lovely russians on etf2l and a couple were delightful to arrange games with. It just seems that there is are a select few that always cause problems.
