could we have a way to sort forum search results by date? i want to find a recent thread not something from 700 days ago

They should sort the results by the date of the most recent comment in each thread imo.

Also, “You didn’t enter search terms more than 4 letters long.” is quite annoying. It means you can’t search for ESL, EMS, i40 etc.

What F2 said. However in the meantime:

1) google.com
2) search for “site:etf2l.org ” followed by your search. Try to be specific as its not great (try i40 for example), but its better than the current search function if you want something specific.
