What are the correct settings? I tried to mess around with them. no success :/

What I use

updaterate 67
cmdrate 67
lag compensation 1
interp .0152
interp ratio 1
smooth 0
smoothtime .001

why do some people set updaterate to 66 and cmd as well. I’m just confused, I just use comanglias settings. Why do people set it to 66 if 67 is better? help I’m all dizzy xD

“67” is not better, it’s just stupid, and it allows you to set your interp lower than it should be, which will then cause interpolation issues if you do so.

Actually this is something I’ve only recently found out. But the “interval per tick”, so the time between ticks is exactly 15ms in TF2. Tickrate is 1 / interval_per_tick which is 1 / 0.015 = 66.66…

Not sure how this plays with updaterate but it sounds like you should just set it higher (such as 67) to make for optimal network settings.

well atleast etf2l cfgs forces max cmd/updaterate 66 so it doesnt matter if you have cmd/updaterate 11123456 or 66 its still 66.

Only if you have really bad internet and have choke/loss every server, then you sould consider lowering it below 66.

.:[aAa]:.

cmd/updaterate 67 is wrong because tf2 only supports 66 tickrate and it screws up your interp

My guess on why people keep using 67: http://i.imgur.com/QU0VBl7.jpg
