Version 0.1
– Rewrote installation script in ruby
– Added fancy graphical dialogs for installation process
– Added move-to-path so that demo files can be moved to another directory

======================================================

So I have been playing tf2 on linux for a while now and saying that I’m missing prec is a huge undestatement. I realized that recording could be made easier and this is the result.

So I put together a combination of a tf2 config and a script that makes recording possible with a single keypress for start/stop record without overwriting old demo files. The resulting filenames follows prec’s format but adds nickname and duration.

There is a lot more text explaining what and how at https://github.com/nisseblink/blink_record

Note that this is not thoroughly tested and it would be awesome if someone would like step up to give it a run.

Tell me what you think!

So Valve decided to remove the path to tf2 from the appmanifest file.
Install new version for it to work again.
As a bonus, added some graphical dialogs in the installation process and move-to-path functionality.

nice work!

kind of unrelated, but maybe you have an idea. When I run TF2 on my Linux Mint install the game stutters whenever the shooting sound is played :(

Thanks!

I’m afraid I don’t. Is it only when playing this sound? If so, that’s quite a weird.
I would start by verify the game cache. If this doesn’t work then perhaps submit a bugreport to Valve.
