How do you get a custom hitsound, now that tf2dingalings.com is down?
Oh yeah, if you would google that, none of the results are good ones.
I have a quake hitsound. All u have to do is just copy this:
tf_dingalingaling “1”
tf_dingaling_volume “1”
tf_dingaling_wav_override “hitsound.wav”
tf_dingaling_pitchmaxdmg “80”
tf_dingaling_pitchmindmg “130”
to autoexec.cfg and put ur hitsound.wav in tf/sound/ui. Don`t forget to rename ur for example “qbeep.wav” file into “hitsound.wav”.
Quake 3 and 4 (see comments) hitsounds can be found here: http://fakkelbrigade.eu/archives/1728/quake-3-hitsound-for-tf2
Why not make use of the full interval? Should make it easier to estimate the damage (and it’s all well within the limits of what the human ear can pick up)?
tf_dingaling_pitchmindmg “255”
tf_dingaling_pitchmaxdmg “1”

tf_dingaling_wav_override has been deprecated for a while now.

Well, mine works fine
You only need the hitsound file (like quake hitsound), then rename it as “hitsound” and place it to tf/sound/ui and ur done :)
