Trying to create a dual-beam, with 2 different colors.
Rotating around a small space between them, or just sort of getting in to each other, but in a way that you can clearly see its 2 colors/beams.

So far no luck, I have tried copying the Blue beam(every component and setting children correctly) and changing the color to white, then changing the Blue beam’s name to A, create a new empty Medigun_Beam_Blue and giving it 2 children, 1 is the Blue beam and the other is the edited copy to white color.

However, it comes out that one color is just dominant more than the other, in this case, the white is more dominant than the Blue, and the Blue is barley visible.
Also, it comes out to be one beam, not 2.

I’ll take a guess for you…

Record demo on green map of you healing.
Smooth demo, remove your model and move pov so only the beam is visible.

Record.

Rinse and reapeat if you want two different beams or invert in vegas or w/e.

Add colour correction to a duplicate track.

Edit.

Voila?

Uhh… nope.
-Would not achieve what Im trying to do, which is create a particle, and would not look the same, not even close.

However, even if it would create the same look, it would a very bad way of doing it:
Would take an immense amount of work for every single clip. Record each demo twice and then remove green screen for each? thats insane.

Hmmm, I seem to have no clue as to what is happening here. This isn’t the movies forum? Thought you wanted to make an effect for a video, I’ll be off now, good luck.

Are you finding the having to close TF2 tools and going back to TF2 every time you edit it annoying? :D

I think I’m getting somewhere :P

How about that?

Nope, chaps, white flag, dunno. :(

Bassically there is the sprite for the medi-beam which has an alpha layer. This sprite is white. The team colour is obviously layered over it additively, however I can’t see any way of disabling that.

Sorry man. :(

Bah I’ve given up, I played with everything in the particle editor.
How did you get to the white sprite conclusion? what file is the sprite?

Maybe some TF2/HL2 engine pro can find a miracle..
